Mrs. Beverly Fulp
I received my Education degree from the University of North Carolina, and I'm a big Tarheel fan! I taught the first two years of my teaching career in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. I received a Master's degree in Education from Lesley University. I have been teaching for 31 years, 28 of those years at May Howard Elementary. I have also been married for 31 years to Andy Fulp and we have 2 wonderful children. Our son, Drew, is 26, and our daughter, Grace, is 17. I enjoy spending time with my family, going to the beach, boating, fishing, exercising, skiing, and biking. In my spare time, I love to curl up with my dog, Lily, and read a good book. I also enjoy coaching the Upper Grades Quiz Bowl team.

As a Savannah native, I am proud to say that I am a product of the wonderful Savannah-Chatham School System! A graduate of Jenkins High School, I received my bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Armstrong Atlantic State University, my masters and doctorate degrees are both from Georgia Southern University. I have been teaching for 27 years. I have been married to my husband Corky for 23 years and we have one son who is a student at UGA. Go Dawgs! Saturdays in Athens are a favorite pastime. I also enjoy reading good old fashioned books that have, “real paper pages,” boating, spending time with my family and dear friends, and our canine companion Copper, a Boykin Spaniel who is three. The most important thing that I hope to teach my students is that I care about them. I believe once a student knows that you believe in them, they can learn anything once they have the self-confidence to succeed. Teaching is a privilege that I don’t take lightly and I am grateful to be part of such an amazing team of gifted educators. This year I will be working with first, second, and third grade and coach the lower grades Quiz Bowl team.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in Education from Bowling Green State University. My first teaching job was a second grade class in Houston, Texas for the Spring Branch Independent School District. While there, I attended the University of Houston and earned my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in mathematics. I then moved to Atlanta and taught 5th grade in the Cobb County School District. Savannah was my next destination teaching at Garrison in the K-2 Science Lab and then May Howard. I recently earned my Technology Specialist Degree from West Georgia. I enjoy having adventures with my two teenagers, walking with my dog, relaxing at the beach and playing in my garden. My love of science and technology inspires me to help coach the Science Olympiad Team and the Robohawks.
